Organic Optical Materials Group

Welcome to the Organic Optical Materials Group homepage

The Organic Optical Materials Group is located in Kaneohe, HI on the Hawaii Pacific University, Loa Campus. The OOMG focuses on interdisciplinary research topics ranging from fundamental theory to applied projects. The work done at the OOMG is at the cross-roads of physics, chemistry, and materials engineering and it has traditionally supported undergraduate research across the disciplines of science and engineering. The main projects currently being persued are self-healing materials, solid-state dye-lasers, new methods to determine low- and high-order nonlinear optical properties with applications to ab initio methods, and new analytical techniques applied to classical nonlinear optical equations.
